CJ in US for International Commercial Courts Forum

NEW YORK: The Hon. the Chief Justice, Hon.Justice Bart Magunda Katureebe was in New York, USA, for the second Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts.
He delivered a presentation on: "Sharing Judicial Experience and Expertise;Spurring Business Growth through Commercial Courts" at the three-day event that started on September 26, 2018.
He stressed the importance of Commercial Courts working together to develop best practices for effective handling of business disputes.
Hon. Justice Katureebe is one of the members of the Steering Committee of the Forum, which brings together Commercial Courts all over the world to develop and share best practices in order to keep pace with rapid commercial change.
The Forum also contributes towards rule of law, stability, prosperity worldwide;and supports developing countries enhance their attractiveness to investors by offering effective means for resolving commercial disputes.
Also taking part in the forum are Hon. Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire (Court of Appeal); Hon. Justice David K. Wangutusi (Head of the Commercial Division);Hon. Lady Justice Anna Mugenyi Bitature, a Judge at the Commercial Division of the High Court and a member of the Forum's Observation Programme and HW Boniface Wamala, (Private Legal Secretary to the Chief Justice).
This is the second meeting of the Forum after the 2017 inauguration in London.
